Vintage Desk by Butler Furniture Co.

This is a current project that I am working on. I bought it for a great price on Craigslist. It was in pretty good shape save for a few little issues. One of the legs had broken off and some of the wood appliqué around the bottom was loose. A peg, some wood glue and a nail gun and she's ready for paint.

I used CeCe Caldwell's Chesapeake Blue on the drawers and then experimented with an aging technique. (On the right.)

Here's another shot of the drawers nearly dry. I like how they turned out. They give the piece a cottagey look. Now to find the perfect pulls.

Tomorrow I will post more on the progress of this piece. It will be for sale at the Deep Creek Vintage Market on February 22-23.

  1. Love it when someone sees potential in a rough CL find! Looks like you're on your way to a lovely result. (Pleased to 'meet' you, Neighbor!)

  2. Hi Connie. Thanks for the comment! I really enjoy reading your blog and love all the work you have put into your lovely home. I'll have to stoop by this spring and take a look at your gardens.
