It was a cold and rainy day today, so I decided to tackle a project that has been sitting in my guest room for some time. I found this piece at my local Goodwill for 15.00.
It is a bright mustard yellow, which I kind of dig, just not for the whole dresser. So I decided to paint the body with Annie Sloan's Old White because her paints go right over already painted pieces. No stripping (hallelujah), sanding or priming necessary.
It took two coats to get full coverage of the white, but I didn't want any yellow showing through (until I distress it) so I made sure to put the second coat on extra thick.
Ok, so I have decided that leaving the drawers the color they were is just not working for me. I think I am going to dry brush the Old White over the drawers and allow the yellow to peek through. And probably change out the pulls for something a little more exciting. Stay tuned, I'll have the finished product up tomorrow. Or Wednesday... :)
